Where Is The Hanging Indent On Word For Mac

Hello, I was hoping to be able to attach a.pdf clip to show the exact formatting I want to achieve, but I guess I can't do that in this forum. My problem is with formatting not exporting properly to Word. I am creating a block of text that looks like this: (left margin) either a blank or a + sign (first tab stop) a number (second tab stop) several letters (third tab stop) here is where I want the hanging indent.

The indent doesn't work in Libre actually either, though you can just tab it across which I can't do in Pages. Seems odd though if its Zotero integrated, unless it's still a Mac issue.

I want to be able to start a paragraph here and have succeeding lines indent to this tab stop without having to insert 3 tabs before the first word in the next line. I cannot get this to work. I've done it by brute force, inserting the 3 tabs, so it looks fine in Pages and exports fine to.pdf. My advisor wants it in Word so he can insert corrections and so forth. This formatting is lost in the conversion to Word, and he will therefore ding me for improper paragraph format.

I guess I lost the reply I just posted. Here goes again: Peter's suggestion was good, but it did not work. I set up the hanging indent as he suggested, entered the data at the 3 preceding tab stops, and typed away after the hanging indent. It worked just fine as long as I was typing.

As soon as I hit the carriage return to begin a new entry, all was lost. My preceding tab stops were messed up and the hanging indent disappeared from the just-completed entry. I have tried setting this up as a table but cannot get the line spacing to match the paragraphs surrounding this block of data.
