I was interested in the location of the Default Location for the user templates in Word 2016 for Mac. According to the help in word it states that the default location is '/Users//Library/Group Containers/Microsoft/Office/User Content/Templates'. However, if you go hunting for this location with the Finder or look up the location in Word > Preferences > File Locations the actual location is '/Users//Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Templates'. Now is this just my computer or is this the true file location default and the help file is just wrong?
I must say the logic of naming a locality '/Microsoft/Office/' makes more sense than '/UBF8T346G9.Office/', but I could be wrong! I have NOT changed the default location since the installation of Word 2016 for Mac and my templates were initially installed under Word 2011 in the default location and were brought in by Word 2016 during the installation process. This is no big issue, I'm just asking is this file location specific to my installation or is this a thing Word 2016 for Mac does and the Help is wrong? I would be interested to hear from the Community.
