Was that what you saw? I have the 2010 for Windows version and I saw nothing about the software itself expiring. I've been using Office for 10 years and never had a licensed version of it expire. Once you install it it's there for as long as you want it. In fact, if your computer crashes and you have to buy a new one, you can call Microsoft and they will give you a new activation key to reinstall it on your new computer.
