I've downloaded from Amazon a few books using the Chrome Cloud Reader extension. The only possible way to view those books is from inside the Chrome Reader extension, and let's be frank, it's pretty much a very annoying extension. I want to view those books (I guess.mobi files) in my own viewer ( Calibre), but I can't find the books that chrome downloaded (I'm working offline so I downloaded the books, but they're invisible). Any idea where Chrome is storing those offline books?

If you keep track of the file size and last edited time when you download a book, it gets bigger and is modified at the same time. Having potentially found the book, I still didn't get anywhere. Embed fonts in excel for mac Screenshot of web app courtesy of As reported by, Amazon has released a new service. The service allows users of both Macs and PCs running either Safari or Google Chrome to read their Kindle books online.

Better yet, the service works on iPad’s Mobile Safari. A feature that owners of WiFi-only iPads will enjoy is page caching for offline reading. Notably, this is a great solution for Amazon to work around Apple’s in-app-purchase requirements for applications that offer purchases. In fact, what better way to spur Web innovation than to force people out of the store?

Good job Apple!
