Hello David, I have exactly the same issue. Exchange account stop working 5 days after Sierra upgrade. I've tried a lot if things, and I'm pretty sure now that it has to do with authentication. Connection with exchange server seems to be working fine, but authentication fails. I've tried with mail, Airmail and Outlook!

I've also tried to revert a backup of mail configuration file from time machine. I didn't find any working solution. As somebody already mentioned, your OWA issue is related to authentication failure on mail. After x unsuccessful tries, your account is blocked for a while.

It seems that trying to connect with mail with wrong credential is blocking your exchange account. If you have any update, I'm really interested. Right now, my only move would be to perform a clean install of sierra. Hi David, Same issue here.

I'll look in IIS logs server-side as soon as I can, but I don't think it has something to do with our Exchange servers at all.

FYI, your phone sync Exchange items via EAS (Exchange Active Sync). Mail.app uses EWS (Exchange Web Services).
