I have Word 14.3.9, Office for Mac 2011 Business. This is making me nuts. I want to insert headers in my document. I'm supposed to be able to create different headers for odd and even pages, and not have a header on the first page. That's what the Word Help says and that's what everything I've been able to find on the web says, including MS itself. But that's not available.
I'm in View/Print Layout; I click the header/footer/page# tab under Document Elements, and the menu of headers drops down, but there is no way to choose odd and even headers and no way to not include a header on the first page. There's just the menu, and all I want is a simple header - but that template is for all pages. I can add a header, but that's as far as it goes, which makes it useless. After (or before) typing the text in the header I can't choose Header/Insert because there isn't any such thing. I can't choose Header/Insert/Options or Position because there isn't any such thing.
Why am I not seeing the options?
