Im not talking about anything on the app store, or any of those bad flash games that come up when you google 'multiplayer mac games.' Im talking about actual multiplayer games, such as mmos or just multiplayer games.
What i find funny about the mac selection is that it seems there are almost no options at first, but if you dig deep enough you'll find certain games that are also compatible with apple when you least expect it. For example i searched all over mac mmo lists online and couldnt find anything much, but then i found this mmo called spiral knights a few days later. It seems like a pretty big f2p game developed by SEGA, i think, and it looked pretty appealing.
What do you know, it was available for mac, and it can also run on my terrible 13' 2011 macbook at 40 fps. Other games that i had to dig for to find but can actually run well are games like drakensang, red crucible, and teeworlds. I also found unexpected free games that can run on mac via steam as well, like team fortress 2 and a new release called codname cure. Team fortress used to run at around 40-50 fps on my **** computer, but randomly dropped to around 20fps after an update so now its unplayable. The thing about my macbook is its really a hit or miss.
Games like COD4, CSS, L4D2, mafia 2 and assassins creed 2 can run at a solid 30-40 fps with some settings adjustments yet i cant even robocraft at more than 15fps. If you guys know any free good games like this that are sort of hard to find at first but have a good playerbase and content please hit me up. I also just discovered torrenting, so if there are any simple PC mmo games that you know of you can include those too.
Click to expand.I am not entirely sure of what you mean there but if it involves getting something for free that normally isn't, I'd highly recommend 'undiscovering' that and the issues that go with it including getting more than what you bargained for in a download. On the other hand, some legit companies do utilize torrents as a means to provide downloads of their software so I do keep BitTorrent installed here myself for that. Otherwise, I never use it.
