Contacts Outlook For Mac Archive Data Location
Hi Hence6Echo, Outlook 2016 for Mac includes a new feature called one-click archiving. This feature allows you to quickly move an item from your Inbox or another folder to an archive folder.
Generally, if you haven’t previously set up an archive folder for an email account, you will get the following prompt: If you click ' Continue', a new folder that is called Archive will appear in your folder list for your Office 365 account. If you click ' Choose Another Folder', it means you can select any of your existing folders for the archive. So I’d like to know whether there is no Archive folder. If yes, I guess you chosen an existing folder to archive the emails after you click the button. I have done some tests and the Archive folder isn't created in Outlook Web App (OWA: ). It means the emails aren’t moved to the 'Archive' folder in the server side.
Given the situation, I suggest you find the archived emails in your OWA. Meanwhile, if you want to find which folder the emails go to after clicking the Archive button in the Outlook for Mac client, please refer to the following steps: • Send a test email to the Inbox folder of your mailbox with a specific subject (like “Test”). • Click the Archive button.

I am still a bit lost however.
I did the test file and was able to locate the message again in a folder labeled 'All Mail' that also had the archive Icon next to it. So I am assuming this is the folder that my messages were sent to, but I can't really tell because it has all my email in it. Something doesn't seem right to me. Is there a way to change this location? Note that my company host it's e-mail via gmail and I am using Outlook Mac to view my mail with IMAP.
Archiving is a great way to back up files and can greatly reduce the size of your personal folder. Compacting your personal folder frees the space on the server and increases the efficiency of searching a new email. You might have received a mail stating your Outlook mailbox is full and you find it difficult to send/receive messages when this happens. You can resolve this issue by moving your old files to an archive location.
This storage process can also be done automatically with AutoArchive, where you can customize the default settings. Recommended: What if you cannot locate your Outlook Archive Folder?
